Violent home invasion leaves two seriously injured in East Tamaki, one arrested

Two people were seriously injured during a home invasion in Auckland last night. 

Photos from the scene in East Tamaki show blood smears visible on a wall, a smashed front door and broken furniture strewn across the home. 

A 27-year-old man has been arrested and is due in the Manukau District Court this morning charged with wounding. 

A police spokesperson said they responded to the scene in Lissleton Dr at 8.10pm after reports of an assault. 

“Two people have been transported to hospital with serious injuries and one person has been taken into police custody.”

A St John spokesperson confirmed the pair were transported to Middlemore Hospital. 

The victims remained in a stable condition. 

Photos taken at the scene showed a glass panel on the front door completely smashed and blood smeared across the inside walls.

Furniture and glass could be seen strewn across the home. 

The police spokesperson said they were not looking for anyone else and the investigation remains ongoing.
