Lydia Ko has delivered New Zealand its 17th medal of the Rio Olympics.
Ko has snatched silver in the women’s golf tournament in Rio.
The world number one has birdied three of her last five holes, including the 18th, to finish one shot clear of China’s Shanshan Feng.
Ko had slipped to fifth early in her back nine and bronze looked the best she could hope for before her clutch finish.
She said it was great to have the likes of Eric Murray and the New Zealand women’s sevens team cheering her on.
South Korea’s Inbee Park has won gold after finishing five shots clear of Ko.
Congratulations @LydiaKo on winning #silver in the golf overnight - New Zealand's 17th medal this #Olympics.
