The Civil Aviation Authority is set to answer more questions asked on the behalf of the families of those who died in a hot air balloon crash in 2012.

An inquest into the deaths of the 11 people that died near Carterton continues today.

A lawyer representing some of the families of those killed will resume questioning of a senior manager of the CAA, Chris Ford.

Mr Ford has already faced serious questions over why complaints about the pilot, Lance Hopping, weren't taken more seriously.

It's been revealed Mr Hopping had failed his pilot's exam twice, had cheated in an exam, and was accused of cancelling a flight because he was too drunk, and/or high.
