A Lotto ticket bought from a south Dunedin store won a lucky punter $13.3 million in tonight’s draw.

The winning ticket, which was sold at sold at South Dunedin Night ‘n Day, was made up of $13 million from powerball first division and $333,333 from Lotto first division.

The win follows on from last month’s historic $40 million Powerball draw where three players from Hamilton, Te Awamutu and Dunedin took home $13.3 million each.

Two other Lotto players from around the country also won $333,333 each tonight. These winning Lotto tickets were sold at New World Merrilands in New Plymouth and Countdown Botany in Auckland.

A Strike player from Auckland will also be celebrating tonight after winning $200,000 with strike four. This ticket was sold at the Albany Pak’nSave in Auckland.

South Dunedin Night 'n Day owner Murray Devereux said, incredibly, this was the third first-division winner sold at the store since he and wife Katie took over the business in the middle of April.

The other first division winners won half a million each and they had also sold a $2 scratchie worth a cool $20,000.

“It’s a pretty good feeling and it’s massive for the community. The only thing I hope is that it’s a local who’s won the money.”

He said the store’s reputation as a lucky Lotto shop could only be good for business.
