A Coroner has found a Southland tractor driver would have had a greater chance of survival if he wore his seatbelt.
George Williams, 62, died in February 2013, while doing tractor work on a farm for CMC contracting.
Working on a farm near Gore, a witness described seeing the tractor veer from the line of the track.
It lost control and bounced down the track, throwing Mr Williams from the cockpit of the tractor.
Evidence found the seatbelt wasn't worn and had been wound around the seat a number of times to disengage the warning device.
