Updated 12.00pm: The man who spent 72 hours sitting in a Kauri tree says he goes back every week to check it's still safe.
Michael Tavares appeared in the Waitakere District Court this morning and was remanded without plea for two weeks.
He's being charged with trespass, as the tree he sat in for three days is on private property.
Tavares says his case is on hold because he hasn't had time to read a new court document yet.
"We've only received a disclosure from the court this morning, so we need time to consider our legal options and where to go from here."
