A law firm specialising in legal buildings has filed a class action against James Hardie.
Thousands of properties were built using the company's Harditex cladding product in the 1990s and early 2000s.
James Hardie has previously denied any fault or failing with their products.
But legal firm Parker and Associates has launched a legal case against the company.
Partner Dan Parker says anyone whose property was built after 1990 using the product and has suffered damage as a result may be able to join the claim.
Owners have until the end of the year to join the class action.
