Traffic has been disrupted on a Waikato highway after human remains were found.

Police were alerted about 10am today to the discovery of the remains.

Police said traffic on State Highway 3 between Te Awamutu and Otorohanga might be impacted to ensure the safety of police staff at the scene.

They have thanked motorists for their patience.

“Police are making inquiries into the remains, which may take some time.”
