There's been no strike-related issues at District Health Boards around the country so far.
Thousands of junior doctors began striking for safer hours at 7 o'clock this morning - and they're not back until 8am on Friday.
It's meant senior doctors are rostered on for extra shifts to cover - and some appointments may need to be postponed.
"From what I understand everyone is coping quite well [nationally]," said Counties Manukau District Health Board spokeswoman Lauren Young.
National DHB Contingency Planner Anne Aitcheson said none of the DHBs have asked for assistance yet.
She said there'll be a country-wide conference call tomorrow morning.
