Cheaper tickets have lead to better numbers going through Zealandia Wildlife Sanctuary in Wellington.

Over a year ago the Karori sanctuary was forced to slash prices, to try and boost low visitor numbers.

Lead ranger Matu Booth says numbers are tracking well, particularly over the summer months.

"Generally our public, our locals, our cruise boat tourists, everyone seems to be flocking here."
