The Government's signed a deal with Australia to better share information about deported offenders.

Between 60 and 100 are deported to New Zealand each year, with most of them coming back from Australia.

Corrections Minister Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga says the agreement's about ensuring we have the right type of information in a timely manner.

Christchurch woman Tina Lawson has been pushing for the changes.
