The man accused of murdering a West Coast woman in her home last month can now be named.
Name suppression for George Sean Warren, 45, lapsed at the High Court in Christchurch this morning.
Appearing via audio visual link (AVL) from prison, he pleaded not guilty to murdering the woman on October 22 this year and will face trial.
Justice Gerald Nation suppressed the woman's name.
Warren was arrested the day after the woman's death.
He originally appeared at Greymouth District Court where he received an angry reception from members of the public gallery.
Lawyer Steve Gill has now taken over as Warren's defence counsel.
Justice Nation remanded Warren in custody until February 9.
