The man who was killed in a three-car crash near Auckland Airport yesterday has been described as “charming and loving”.

Arvind Kummar, 45, died in an accident on George Bolt Memorial Drive, the main road leading to the airport, which resulted in a temporary closure.

Tributes in Fijian Community Pages on Facebook described him as a dedicated and religious person who “never turned back to say no”.

“He was the beloved son of Mr & Mrs Muttu Sami Dadua of Lauwaki Settlement, Lautoka.”

Friends described him as “the charming & loving” husband of Jasoda Goundar, who remained seriously injured in Middlemore Hospital.

Another tribute said “Rest in Peace my dear bro ... will missed by all families and friends”.

“May Allah (s.a.w) give sympathy to kaka n kakii and all family and friends. Miss u sooo much mere bhaii ronal.”

The crash closed George Bolt Memorial Drive, a key airport route, resulting in police warning travellers to allow extra time to make their flights.

The crash was reported about 4am on Wednesday and happened near the intersection with Tom Pearce Drive.
