A father is worried and angry, after his son was allegedly forced to sit in the aisle in a North Canterbury bus trip.
The teenager caught the Hanmer Connection on Sunday afternoon travelling from Culverden to Christchurch.
His father, who wishes to remain anonymous says he dropped his son at the bus stop and rang him later that evening once he had arrived.
"And he was quite upset about it and said that he had to sit on the floor with his friend and another girl as well."
He says that it appears that they were overbooked.
The father says it's unsafe but wants to know if it is legal.
If it is, he wants the law to be changed
"I just don't feel that anyone should be sitting on the floor at 100 k's an hour for over an hour, let along any time. We can't do it in our cars so I don't see why buses can do it."
The bus company has been approached for comment.
