Most New Zealanders have been through Treaty of Waitangi education at some point - but what many don't know is that it's all changed.
The Citizens Advice Bureau has funding to hold seminars, and is doing a Waitangi-specific one ahead of Waitangi Weekend this year.
It's one of four workshops they're funded to run throughout the year and will be held in Whangarei on February 1.
Coordinator Moea Armstrong said in 2014 the Waitangi Tribunal came out with its ruling that accepted the Ngapuhi view of the Treaty.
"People think the treaty is too complicated for ordinary people to understand, so it's very much simplifying it and now we don't have to worry so much about the English text and the Maori text because of the tribunal's ruling."
She said they're usually for new migrants - but she's encouraging everyone to attend.
"It's open session - just register first so we have an idea of numbers."
