An earthquake has rattled the centre of the lower North Island.
GeoNet says the magnitude 4.5 quake at quarter to one was centred 20 kilometres east of Eketahuna at a depth of 25 kilometres.
Newstalk ZB listener Anne-Marie felt the quake.
"It was terrible, I'm sitting doing things at the table, there was a little bit of a shake but it was very very strong."
