Investigations are underway after an early morning house fire in New Plymouth.

Fire and Emergency responded to the blaze in the suburb of Westown at 2.30am with three fire trucks.

This morning, Fire and Emergency confirmed two investigators are at the scene of the fire.

They provided limited information regarding the incident and referred further comments to police.

Hato Hone St John confirmed it responded to the incident, but also referred the matter to police.

Police have been approached for comment.
