The Associate Transport Minister wants the Easter road toll to remain at zero and is emphasising the importance of driving safe.
David Bennett says the passing storm has made driving conditions more difficult, and it's essential drivers are "more aware of our road conditions and take that into account."
Mr Bennett says people need to wear seatbelts and slow down.
"We want to have a zero road toll for the weekend so make sure that you wear a seat belt, that you don't speed and you drive to conditions and just be conscious of other drivers and be patient," he said.
"Take some speed off - even lower than the limit if you need to."
Nearly 100 people who died on our roads in 2016 weren't wearing a seatbeltt. Four people died over Easter Weekend last year.
