The use of more biosecurity detector dogs is helping stop exotic pests and diseases coming here in the post.
An annual survey by the Ministry for Primary Industries shows a biosecurity compliance rate of 99.99 percent, for items processed at the International Mail Centre in Auckland.
MPI spokesman Craig Hughes is putting the result down to additional detector dog teams working at the centre, and a closer working relationship with Customs and New Zealand Post.
