State Highway 36 between Tauranga and Rotorua is blocked due to a crash.

The crash between a truck and another vehicle south of Roy Rd was reported about 1.20pm, a police spokesman said.

“One person is reported to have minor injuries, and one person is reported to have moderate injuries.

“Traffic management is being organised.”

NZ Transport Agency said the road is blocked in both directions.

“Please avoid this route if possible and allow plenty of extra time for a long detour.”
