The Glenorchy community's mourning the loss of a true Kiwi bloke.
Duayne Insley died after crashing during the World Championship Jet Boat Marathon on Sunday.
The 47 year old was a long-time member of the local fire brigade, and ran High Country Horses with his wife Deana.
His friend, Dick Watson said he'd seen Duayne every day since they met, more than two decades ago.
"Without a doubt he'd be one of the most missed characters around here. The whole town is still reeling in shock really."
Watson described him as a true Kiwi bloke.
He said he was a big part of the community in Glenorchy.
"You know just anything that was going on in town, he was there and was always chuckling away. Nothing was problem to the fella."
