Updated 3:00pm:Â The body of a climber who died on Mount Cook has been recovered.
Search and Rescue has retrieved the body of the Canterbury man, who was killed in a fall from the north side of the mountain's east ridge yesterday morning.
A formal identification process will take place, and police hope to be able to name the man tomorrow.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
