One of the roads linking New Brighton to the rest of Christchurch is now up and running after months of restoration.
After a long and complex repair programme, New Brighton Rd has reopened permanently one way between Palmers Rd and Pratt St.
It has been closed off since April and is one of the vital links from the seaside suburb to the rest of the city.
CTOC travel information advisor Steven Mann said it's been a big job.
"Full build-up of New Brighton road, footpath constructions, reinforcing - so it's all the bells and whistles really," he said.
Mann said there is still a bit of minor work to complete, which should be finished by the end of the week.
"It's certainly a significant link to New Brighton. It's just part of the recovery of the whole area so it's good to get that done."
