The votes are in, and Christchurch's flood-hit residents are divided.
The Christchurch City Council has released figures, following consultation with the community on its preferred option to reduce the risk of flooding in the Flockton area.
It's proposed to widen the Dudley River and create higher flood banks, at a cost of 48-million dollars.
Over 120 residents had their say on the proposal, with roughly half voting in support .... rather than against.
Around a quarter of submitters disagreed, and under 30 percent indicated they could swing either way.
After considering feedback and technical advice, the council's likely to make a final decision in the coming weeks.
