Police are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated robbery in Lyttelton.

The offender entered the Lyttelton Club about 9.30 this morning armed with a pistol and demanded money.

He fled on foot with cash.

Detective Sergeant Greg Murray says no one was injured but staff are very shaken and are receiving support.

The offender was wearing a black balaclava, black hoodie, black gloves, dark jeans and black sneakers.
