The case of the Christchurch Plant Thief has been solved - it was all a mix up.

Both St Mark's School and St Mark's Church were donated hundreds of plants from Oderings Garden Centres for their annual fairs at the weekend.

But when a representative from the school went to pick theirs up, they found somebody else had got in first.

Turns out the church had picked up both lots of plants.

Oderings' retail manager Darryn Odering is sorry for the mix up.

"It was because it was two different departments here they both weren't communicating unfortunately, so one was dealing with the school, one was dealing with the church."

Darryn Odering is pleased everyone got their plants in the end.
