
A moment of relief for an earthquake damaged Christchurch holiday park.
The South Brighton motor camp faced closure because of cost concerns and the risk of future flooding, but the Christchurch City Council's decided to postpone, instead putting the camp out to expressions of interest until November.
Councillor Yani Johanson maintains the camp's home to many displaced people.
"This is providing housing at a time that we have a housing crisis. When you consider the huge amounts of money that we've been spending to try and find some of these housing solutions, this is actually a very effective, efficient housing solution. "
Livingstone believes closing the course would leave a hole in the community.
"There's a lot at stake to keeping these discussions going. Yes there are a lot of other golf courses around, but they're private. This is known to be affordable, it runs a Samoan golf academy, so this is quite unique."
