The central Christchurch land that'll sport Te Kaha multi-use arena is buzzing with activity.
Project Delivery Ltd Chief Executive David Kennedy says the early works programme is to ready the 6.8 hectares of land for construction.
He says contractors are doing archaeological investigations, hydro-excavation using high-pressure water to locate underground services – and establishing erosion and sediment control ponds.
Over the next few weeks, ground piling work will begin.
The detailed design of Te Kaha is expected to be completed late this year, with the arena expected to be ready for public use from April 2026.
