E Tu spokesperson Joe Gallagher said there's been some indication there are around 29 new jobs in the company's Sydney plant.
"Sydney's got a crazier hosing market than New Zeland so it is extremely unlikely that a lot of these people would be continuing to work for the company."
The company's set a consultation period of three-weeks, but Gallagher said it's just a legality.
"Nothing that we do during that consultation process, in my view, will change the outcome and that is that they are going to cease production."
