Cantabrians' are still going hard at the pokies, despite a massive reduction in the amount of gambling machines since the earthquakes.
A report presented to Christchurch City Councillors shows gambling spending in the city is among the highest in the country, with machines gobbling up around $20 million every three months.
The spending is similar to pre-quake levels, despite the city losing 300 pokie machines and 26 gambling machines since 2011.
The council yesterday questioned whether changes should be made to a local policy which dictates rules for gambling venues.
Councillors decided to leave it as it is.
