A new $3 million chairlift will be waiting for snow bunnies at Canterbury's Porter Heights ski field next season.
The eight month project to replace the old t-bar with a state of the art chairlift is already underway.
It's aimed to be completed by April.
General manger Uli Dinsenbacher says they're having a massive overhaul of the slopes.
"The chairlift will be $3.5 million. We're also doing about $1 million worth of earthworks. We will increase our beginners learners facilities. So the whole project will be between $4-5 million."
