Tonight police announced she had been found dead by Police Search and Rescue at around 6pm.
“Police would like to thank all those who assisted with the search, including Coastguard Sumner volunteers, Land Search and Rescue volunteers, and Fire and Emergency New Zealand staff,” police said in a statement.
“We would also like to acknowledge everyone who contacted Police with possible sightings following our public appeals for information.”

On June 4, Christchurch woman Elisabeth Nicholls, 79, vanished from Ryman’s Margaret Stoddart Retirement Village in Christchurch just hours after being admitted for respite care.
The last confirmed sighting was at the Chateau on the Park hotel in Riccarton in the evening of June 4.

Police and Land Search and Rescue teams spent over two weeks searching for the missing woman, even using a drone over Riccarton and Hagley Park.
On June 22, Nicholls was found dead at an abandoned property on Gracefield Ave in the central city.
Gracefield Ave is about 2.9km from where Nicholls was last seen.
At the time, Ryman said it was “terribly saddened” by the news and would work with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora to look into what happened.
