A Christchurch primary school has closed after they received a threatening hoax overnight, but classes are set to resume mid-morning.
Christ the King School closed this morning after it received a threatening email.
Police said they were made aware of the threat sent to the school yesterday.
“The source of the threat has since been identified and there is no risk to the public.”
Christ the King School on Greers Rd, Burnside, has a roll of 344 students.
It offers primary education for girls and boys from years 1-8.
A spokesperson for the primary school told the Herald the threat was a hoax.
The school was set to resume classes at 10am.
This comes after a string of threatening emails sent to 70 schools and organisations across the country late last year.
