Oil exploration company Anadarko is playing down predictions of a tough year ahead for those looking to conduct offshore drilling operations.
While it's been a pleasurable time at the pump, some energy sector analysts believe the continuing slump in crude oil prices may slow the push to find deep sea oil reserves.
But, Anadarko's New Zealand manager, Alan Seay says it's business as usual for them.
"Our plans are unchanged at the moment. We're about to embark on some seismic survey work in the Canterbury Basin."
Alan Seay says Anadarko will begin undertaking survey work next month.
