The nine year old boy who was critically injured after a fall from a window at Taradale Primary School in May has died.

Aryan Banerjee has spent the last few months being cared for at both Hawke's Bay Hospital and Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, but his father said Aryan died peacefully earlier today in his parents' arms at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

It's not yet known exactly what happened that tragic day in May, but WorkSafe New Zealand says its investigation into the incident is ongoing.

They have asked for privacy while they grieve for their son.
