The bodies of a North Otago mother and son involved in a fatal tractor accident have been recovered.

They are Nadine Tomlinson, 33, and three-year-old Angus Tomlinson.

The Waihemo woman was driving a tractor and trailer with her son on board - when it slipped into the reservoir.

A family member told the Otago Daily Times the police dive squad recovered their bodies a short time ago.

He says the woman was a very careful driver.

Police investigations are ongoing.
