A children’s football coach has been banned from the sport for sending a cocaine menu to a league group chat.

According to the BBC, the Belfast man has been banned from the under-8s Fonacab Development league for messaging a coaching WhatsApp group offering to sell “proper pure” cocaine.

The text listed prices and locations the man would drop the drugs to, stating “time wasters” would be blocked.

About 400 coaches are believed to have been in the chat, which was used to discuss junior match times.

A representative for the league confirmed to Belfast Live that the man is no longer allowed at any of the organisation’s clubs.

“A coach from a club has posted that message that is going about; as a league, that coach was removed straight away; the coach’s club were informed straight away, along with the child protection officers.”

The league also condemned the man’s conduct in a statement on their Facebook page titled “Our Standards Matter”.

“As a league, we cannot monitor or control every message shared between coaches when organising fixtures or availability.

“However, we do have clear expectations of behaviour, and any conduct that breaches safeguarding or professionalism will be addressed immediately.”
