Rural call outs have kept the BayTrust Rescue Helicopter busy over the weekend.

A 65-year-old woman was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital at 10.40am, after breaking her leg while working on a farm north of Rotorua.

This mission came on the back of one to the remote Urewera township of Ruatahuna last night.

The flight crew had to use night vision goggles to fly an 85-year-old woman to hospital after she suffered a medical event.
