Family and friends have been by her bedside at a Montpellier hospital, where's she's remained in intensive care.
They're being updated about her condition but have asked for privacy.
A Givealittle page set up to support the family has been inundated with messages of support and has reached its target of $25,000.
Early plans are being put in place for the funeral of Jerry Collins.
A funeral for the rugby great will be held in his home town of Porirua, once final paperwork is signed off to bring Collins home.
Investigation
Correspondent Catherine Field said questions surround why the crash happened where it did.
Alana Madill was driving the family home to Narbonne, but had travelled around 10 or 15 kilometres past the turnoff.
"Perhaps she missed the turn off, but it's still a long way on from where they would have been. Again, another of those questions that we still don't know, and there are still a lot of unknowns in this terrible tragedy."
Catherine Field said the State Prosecutor, who is investigating the cause of the accident, says the autopsy on Jerry Collins' partner Alana Madill has taken place.
"However, he said it would take some time to get the results. It could be weeks he said, quite often it's two weeks before those results come through."
