A central Auckland incident where a man pointed a gun at another man and threatened to shoot him prompting a response from armed police and the armed offenders squad has now been resolved.
Inspector Jason Homan said two people are assisting the police with their inquiries following a report a firearm was allegedly seen earlier this morning at an address on Hobson Street.
Police cordons were in place on Union St and Hobson St in central Auckland as officers responded to the report about 7.55am.

Armed offenders squad members were photographed at the scene wearing tactical gear and carrying large battering rams.
“Due to the nature of the report, specialist police groups attended,” Homan said.
A witness told RNZ he saw two people arguing on the street.
Soon after one of the men “got up, put his hand in his pocket, pulled out a gun and loaded it and pointed it at him and said he’s going to shoot him”.
Members of the public, including some school children, were diverted away from the scene.
Homan said no injuries have been reported and police do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the public in relation to this matter.
