Anti-poverty campaigners were moved on by the police last night, after staging a noisy demonstration outside a National Party event.
They set up a party of their own with music and food on the pavement, outside the venue of the Young Nats’ Ball in Auckland.
Auckland Action Against Poverty's Sophie Morgan said the aim was to draw attention to the plight of beneficiaries, they've been trying to help this week.
She's accused the Young Nats of "celebrating the actions of the government" that has made that plight worse. Â
