The Crown prosecutor says an Auckland teacher accused of committing indecent acts on 10 girls was caught in compromising positions by other adults.
The teacher, who's in his 60s, is on trial in the High Court in Auckland on 25 representative charges against students between the ages of 6 and 8.
Charges were laid when one of his students reported he'd pulling her pants down and smacked her when they were alone in his classroom.
Other complainants then came forward.
Defence lawyer Richard Earwaker says the staggered process is problematic because the case became the subject of much gossip in the playground and among parents.
APNZ reports the jury will retire to consider its verdict this afternoon.
