Why was 1080AM off-air?
The northern tower (which Newstalk ZB’s 1080AM frequency broadcasts from) at the Henderson AM transmission site has been dismantled, and a new transmission tower has been erected on the same site.
The southern tower was also dismantled as part of this work, however the site owner has made the decision to not replace this mast and sell the land.
