The Kapiti Coast District council has grudgingly approved the sale of legal highs in Paraparaumu.

The Council's Regulatory Management Committee has approved a draft policy limiting the sale of psychoactive products to just one area.

Chair Diane Ammundsen says no one in the community wants to see legal highs sold anywhere in Kapiti, but council has no choice under the current law, and can't ban them altogether.
