The Public Services Association has cancelled walk-outs next week, following an agreement to meet with Auckland District Health Boards.
Mediation talks are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
Public Service Association Organiser Simon Oosterman said there'll be a four-hour strike on December 2nd if negotiations fail.
He said workers can't go on as they are, let alone agree to further cuts.
"Health professionals are doing their best to make up for that $1.7 billion funding gap. They're working for free, they're working long hours and they're missing breaks to try and minimise the impact on patients."
Around 1500 social workers, physiotherapists, scientists and other health staff have walked off the job in the past two weeks.
