A post-natal depression organisation facing closure is calling on the government to step in.
The Nelson Post Natal Distress Support Network's just been told it won't be getting District Health Board funding.
Chair Harriet Denham said they're desperate for funding.
"It is vital to be able to keep supporting the mum's in our community, you know it's one in five who are affected with post natal distress, you know in one form or another, whether it's low, moderate or high."
She said the service is vital to the community.
"This is the government's people we are talking about, these mum's and their babies they're both vulnerable, in fact the whole family becomes vulnerable and it is the country's responsibility to look after it's people."
Chair Harriet Denham said they've set up a Give a Little page, and are looking at other fundraising efforts, just to stay afloat.
