A 10-strong delegation from Qatar will spend the next week examining goings on at the Canterbury District Health Board, in an effort to improve its own growing system.

Qatar Continuing Health Care Director Nicola Diamond says they've been impressed by how the CDHB integrates its different departments, and wanted to understand more.

"How they make it more simple and easy for the patients to navigate their way through.

It's not something that is currently working very well in Qatar."

A delegation from the CDHB will make a return visit to examine the Qatar health system in June.
