A Christchurch carer for the elderly says 'granny dumping' at hospitals isn't just a problem over holiday weekends.
Concerns were raised by a doctor at Auckland City hospital over Labour weekend who tweeted families were dropping frail people off at hospital with minor illnesses so they could go on holiday.
Lisa says she knows of many cases where older family members are literally dropped off at Hospital because of lack of information on care available.
She says there needs to be a change in culture of families taking it upon themselves to support older people throughout a medical process.
