A sad day for the 120 staff at Goodman Fielder's Hamilton site today.

It'll be their last day of work.

Earlier this year Goodman Fielder announced plans to close the Hamilton operation, and sold its meat business to Hellers.

Around 40 of the workers have found other jobs, with about ten moving into roles with Hellers in Christchurch or Auckland.

FIRST Union has established a post-redundancy support centre at its offices in the Waikato Trade Union Centre in Hamilton.
