The first bridge on the Cambridge stretch of the Waikato Expressway has opened today.
The six metre high Peake Road overbridge is one of eight bridges being built on the new highway.
Its opening means Forrest Road is now closed to traffic.
The Cambridge section of the expressway is expected to be finished by July 2016.
